Wow, it's full on snowing to-day!
Temp is just on minus 1C and it's snowing moderately with no wind.

Went into Vienna by subway to see a friend to-day and had a nice time.
We have been email friends for just on 2 years and he and his wife live in Vienna, coming from USA over 20 years ago.
He is a concert pianist and plays the forte-piano.
That is an instrument that Wagner and Mozart composed their music on, well over 150 years ago and he plays their music, their way, on their types of musical instruments.

Heading out for a meeting in Vienna. This is just outside my bedroom ...
Picture
It looks so surreal...Icicles dripping and forming from the gutters...
Picture
The big building on the left was the part of the building I stayed in the 2 last times I was here...right at the back on the top floor. 123 steps up to be exact...and 123 steps down x 5 or 6 times a day. Yes, they do have a lift, but I like to walk up and down.
Picture
Wow, it is just like in the picture books!
Picture
You can barely see the other side of the street, the snow is so thick...
Picture
This looked so story book like too...The snow on the two tower roofs looked lovely...
Picture
Then I went upstairs after getting off the train and couldn't resist showing you this as I went past! The video will explain it all better...
Picture
Then when we met, Richard showed me a really nice restaurant, not far from the Opera House. We had a bite to eat and a drink and a nice long chat about how to get his music heard by more people.
Picture
Then as we were heading for our trains, he met a fellow musical person who writes about music and gives talks around the area on Wagner and others. Both knew of the forte-piano I saw in the Music Museum in Prague, the one that Mozart played on and Richard had also seen it. So, in this place, the legends of olde live on!

Have just about planned the next 6 weeks of my trip. Will post it in the next few days when I finalise all.
Have found some really bargain fares to Innsbruck and up the huge chair lift they have and then to Neuschwanstein Castle in Lower Bavaria, then to Lake Bled and back to Munich, then to fly to London for another crazy fare of just 26Euro. Can you believe it's all coming to an end, seemingly, so soon?

Weather...+1C...that's now above zero...expecting rain for 3 days and temps to +10C by Friday.

Dorm buddies...No one in the dorm except me last night! Awesome.
I had been feeling "off" for a few days prior to the Ball...I think it might be the expresso shots...I've only had 2 since I've been here from Maccas, but both times I've felt "off colour" for a few days. The only other thing I can think it could be is the thick shakes here. Had 2...on the same days as the expresso...I love ice-cream in the colder weather, but it looks like thick shakes and expresso are a no go zone now.
Serve me right for going into Maccas...

Actually, another time, when I first arrived in Prague, I thought I'd try one of their $2 wraps and I was crook for a few days too...so, that's a big wake up call. Had forgotten that. I don't think I went into them last year, except in Frankfurt, to use their WiFi and loo, so I bought a thickshake there. It's getting to be a bad habit...
OK...that's it. Maccas is off the radar now!

So, I stayed in my PJ's all day yesterday, after the ball, just ate fruit, drank tea and water and just did my blog and slept and did some washing and cleaned up my little nest, hoping I'd have it all to myself for a little longer. Not so...2 other women in here now. One from Poland and another from Korea. They are both asleep now...it's just on 9pm...

Spend to-day...21Euros for lunch and drinks and 5 Euros for some mandarins, some eggs and a bottle of fresh orange and kiwi juice.= 26 Euros = $32 Ausd...

That's all for to-day.
See you tomorrow...

Hope you're feeling better Mary. That's good advice you gave yourself, take heed...stay away from Maccas!

I only visit them about every 6months to a year for a 30c cone icecream. Sometimes years go by without a visit, but over here in Prague there was one I walked past every day and on those couple of occasions, bought their special advertised.
I never see them in any other place, or if you do, they are heavily disguised...by the council laws!
Anyways, the novelty is over now...I only had 2 or 3 coffees last year and both were in Vienna, in nice places and you got a nice cup etc...but it's this expresso thing that's got me here!
You pay really expensively for about 2 tablespoons of black liquid...not like an expresso in Australia, and that's the shocker. A mug comes and only had an inch of hot coffee in it!
Anyways, I'm over experimenting with all that weird stuff and back onto tea! Had the best cuppa yesterday since I left Australia!
Am all good to-day!
