Check out the price to buy these places, right in the heart of town too.
Some apartments are up to $800,000 for el-swanko, as they are in historic buildings and have a premium on them...but ordinary stuff that's from about 400 yrs old goes from under 50k to about 200k ish!
Prague 1 is the Old town square etc where I am close to now.
Prague 5 is just over the bridge from there and is where I am right now, under the Prague Castle.

Interesting...
The next thing will be to check out all utilities prices and go from there.
I love hosteling, but can't put my crystal or lace out...so will have to rent a little unit next time.

This is the Ball I'm going to again in Vienna next week...Inside the beautiful and functioning Hofburg Palace...
Picture
My goal last time was to dance under the crystal chandeliers in a real Palace in Vienna to Strauss waltzes...Done!
Picture
I had a stiff neck for weeks after this night. 10 ball rooms, 3,500 people, 10 different bands...and chandeliers everywhere!
Picture
The picture I went to get!
Picture
Just wandering around inside the Palace, going from room to room...sighhh
Picture
This was my fave room...even though the main hall is awesome, this one was smaller and had a really fiesty orchestra!
I took these videos last time I was at the ball in Vienna...ahhh, the memories...

In some of the vids they make look like they have a lot of movement from the camera end...it's only me waltzing under the chandeliers with my camera as my partner...sorry about that.
Not having a beau wasn't going to stop me fulfilling a dream to waltz under the chandeliers in a Palace...so I did!

Both these videos are taken in the same room...Notice the big picture of Empress Sissi?
Echoes of a scene from Love Never Dies huh?
It was a debutante ball where a bunch of girls and young men were presented to the VIP's of the area.
They do a special waltz for the people, then when the man yells out, that's the invite for everyone to join in.
So, the guards(in the pink outfits) leave and those who wish, can waltz around...under the chandeliers...in a Palace!
Those 3 videos are for the pure romantics amongst us...Selma, Katharina...you'll know who to show these to!

Have forgotten to take videos with this new camera...oops! Had better learn that soon.

No changes in anything to-day, didn't spend any money, no new ones came into our rooms and the temp is still minus 7C and the snow is melting again!

I stayed in and just searched for properties to rent for next time and went and got a real estate catalogue from the supermarket down the road a bit!
Had a really lazy day.

'bye...

~ ... Actually the portrait of the Empress Elisabeth (Sissi) was Andrew Lloyd Webber's inspiration for the Elissa gown in "The Phantom of the Opera" 2004 film, sometimes called the "Think of Me" gown.

Hi Reverie,
Thanks for the comment.
It's very easy to see how these things influence romantics.
ALW is a confirmed romantic...his own words...and I can see many references in both Phantom and LNDies over here in settings and pictures etc.
I found some clothes at the Prague Castle last week that reminded me of M'me Giry in the movie and again in LNDies.
At a local Museum in Prague yesterday I saw Automatons, mentioned in LNDies.
All these things subtlety in the background of your living day over here, blur the lines of the reality of each day and of the story...is it really real?
Ahhh, but it is so delicious to see and be in these areas where great artists drew their inspiration for their stories from...stories that have enthralled us all for decades.
Long live the true romantics amongst us!
Thanks again!
Will try and get some pics from within the Sissi Museum in Vienna too next week...

~ ... Yes, that's the lovely thing about Europe the new infused deeply with history, which in turn is diffused within a heavy mist of legends, themsleves often having a deep basis of some reality. So you can see it's endless exploration. Having lived in England & visited many times, there's a timelessness.
