At last!
The sun shines the day I become a tourist!
Now, that's more like it!
Thank-you.
Had a really nice banquet meal for 7pounds 85 pence at an Indian restaurant to-day too.
It was very nice...I only have had Indian twice before and both on the Goldie, but they weren't very nice at all!
This was an all you could eat...(and it was not like the plate in Prague either..all you can eat and they put the 3 courses on one plate and that was that!)
This was a true smorgasbord...lots of real nice Indian food, plus lovely fresh salad and I tried every dish. A spoon of each...but the lentil soup was the best!
Have to cut back on my expenses here now as it's coming up to the last 10 days in GBPound areas, so I have to make sure I have enough left so I don't have to draw more out. The banks here charge 7 Ausd and my bank charges $5...so to get out a last 20 pounds will be a bad investment!
I can always use my Debit card, but the bus and train need coins for trips...like in USA, so at least I'm aware.
Here are a few shots from last night when I went for a walk at 4-6pm...and then some from to-day's little trip to the Royal Mile...the tourist area and old town historical areas.
Have to get to the Royal Yatch Britania yet, go to see cats in the next few days and visit the Edinburgh castle and i'm done for here.
I did want to go to Airth castle, just near here, for 2 nights, but it seems it's all booked out on the 20 pounds special they had...never mind. I'm almost castled out as it is! Then I did want to visit Mum's folks area of Ben Nevis, but it's too much just now.
I've finally worked out how to do these long trips and get all your bucket things done in good time, with little stress. The answer is...Stay somewhere for a few weeks, leave all your gear there, schedule your clients work ahead, then go somewhere special, do the tourist thing and go back. Rise and repeat!

Another awesome building...Sits atop a rise and looks as tho' it has it's arms outstretched...I had to put my camera thru the fence rails around the grounds to try and get in between the plants to get a shot. I later found out I was going the wrong way and could actually get inside. It's the Museum now. Don't know what it was before that...but I want it! It's the most magnificent imposing building I have ever seen and it brought tears to my eyes... and this is only part of it. Will go back in the sunshine as this was after 5pm yesterday...
More chimney pots...there are a lot of these curved streets of homes, apartments etc on both sides of a road up the middle of them...It makes a nice break from straight streets and gives the properties a bit of space from the road noises...Even tho' the road itself is straight down the middle of them. They sort of build a circle of houses and let a road run right thru the middle.
Heading back into the main Princes Street now, via a trip under the bridge and a trip to the train stn to ask about the times the train runs from Warrington to Liverpool on Thursday, for Phantom. I bought the 2 return tickets for 6 pounds...a saving of well over 100 pounds, but they don't go right into Liverpool, Lime street, where the theatre is. So, the guy said it's only a 30 min or so trip and runs often and should cost no more than a tenner!
Well, that's it!
My batteries went flat, as I haven't used the camera in almost a week and clean forgot about it!
Spend to-day ...8pounds for lunch and 2 pounds for a House and Garden magazine to read!.
Dorm buddies...full house for the footy...they are all sitting in the common room now, shouting and yelling over the footy!
Weather...3C...Sunny, tried to snow this morning, nice in the sunshine, but get out the gloves weather again!
Have to check out the tickets for CATS, then the Royal Yacht Britannia now...
Bye,
M
